On Thursday 6 June, Sunnybank SHS is holding three very important events for Year 10 students and parents, combined in one occasion for your convenience.  As Year 10 is an important time setting up a young person's future, we have:

  • Subject Selection Expo
  • Careers Expo, and
  • 'Senior School : pathways, options, processes and possibilities' information session for Year 10 students and their parents

 2:45/3 to 4pm:

Subject Selection and Careers Expo

  • During Period 4 Thursday 6 June, the Year 10 students will be involved in 'Careers Speed Dating' where they rotate in groups to meet with representatives from employers, companies, different careers, training organisations, Universities etc. Many of these providers will remain after school to be available to meet with parents and students.
  • Students and parents will have the opportunity to talk with the careers organisations regarding post-school options.
  • Students and parents will have the opportunity to talk with school staff to discuss subject selections for Year 11 and 12.
4-4:45 pm

'Senior School : pathways, options, processes and possibilities' information session for Year 10 students and their parents

Auditorium

  • The Senior School information session will be held in the auditorium for all Year 10 students and parents.  We highly recommend all families attending this session as it provides useful information to help families support their young person through the multiple pathway options to graduation and beyond.

During Term 3, Year 10 students will complete their SETP (Senior Education and Training Plan) where school and families work together to map out and support the student's pathway.  All the information offered at the 6 June event will support families with this process.
