About our ISP Programme
Programs that are offered include the long term “International Student Graduate Program" which runs for the full six years of secondary education, as well as programs which include the short term “Study Abroad" programme and “Study Tour Programme". Through all of these programs' students are integrated into the school community and provided with a diverse range of ESL support for reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in the classroom. All programs link into the school academic network where a strong focus is on developing individual pathways for all students ensuring strong successful outcomes in their chosen area whether it be a tertiary or vocational pathway.
Our International students reside in either a school arranged homestay accommodation with a local family or with their family. Homestay students are provided with high standard accommodation and have the opportunity to experience the cultural diversity of the Australian lifestyle. Homestay families are inducted and trained by the school to provide students with a safe and caring environment that provides both cultural and social activities to assist with cultural integration. Sunnybank State High School has a strong twenty-year reputation in providing Homestay opportunities.
The cultural diversity created by the International students' programme is beneficial for the school and our community on both a local and global level. It fosters the development of the students' understanding of a global community in an ever-shrinking modern world. Students are encouraged to learn about themselves, connect with others and make a difference in our world. It is our vision to educate individuals to become productive, forward minded citizens in the global community.
